Tampa says: Don't water your lawn next week

TAMPA -- It has been raining this week, which has led the Tampa Water Department to issue this request: Please don't water the lawn. It may sound obvious, but the water department says it's a serious issue. Under the city's water ordinance, it's legal to water on either Sunday or Tuesday, depending on your address. But if everyone decided not to water on those two days next week, it would save about 20 million gallons. Even with this week's rain, the bay area is still feeling the effects of an especially long drought, and water officials are looking for ways to cope.
