Interview with ecologist Tom Crisman on Water Reuse/Recovery
Scientists call the process "water reuse and recovery." Opponents have a catchier name: "toilet to tap." The idea is to take millions of gallons of wastewater that flow every day into Tampa Bay, and re-route it upstream so it flows into the Hillsborough River - which is the source of Tampa's drinking water. On Thursday, February 25, Tampa City Council members will float the idea. WUSF's Steve Newborn talks with Tom Crisman, a freshwater ecologist at USF who recently hosted two workshops on the topic.
