Florida Arbor Day Celebration Jan. 21 at Bobby Hicks Park

Florida Arbor Day is Friday, January 21 and the date coincides with the season most that is most favorable to plant trees in the Sunshine State. At 10:30 a.m. dozens of native trees will be planted in Bobby Hicks Park, located at 4201 W. Mango Avenue. The plantings are a result of a grant received by the Tampa Garden Club that paid for the purchase of the trees and their expert installation by arborist Jason Zysk of Greenworks.

The trees are being placed in conjunction with the City of Tampa's planned pathway near the Boys and Girls Club in the park. This funding for this project was provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
