Flooding Still Impacting Some Hillsborough County Parks

As of Sept. 5th, some areas of Hillsborough County parks remain closed due to flooding from Tropical Storm Isaac.

The following park is closed:
• Dead River

The following parks have activities which are impacted:
• Alderman's Ford – the river is closed to canoeing. Some walking trails are closed.
• Edward Medard – the boat ramp area is closed.
• Flatwoods - all off-road trails are closed. The seven-mile paved trail remains open.
• Morris Bridge - the picnic shelter area is closed on the east side.
• Lake Park - the back portion of the park is closed, including the BMX bike area, RC car track, canoeing and horse arena.
• Lettuce Lake - The large boardwalk, observation tower and picnic shelters 5, 7, 8, 9, 11 and 12 are closed. Portions of the bike trail are flooded.
• Lithia Springs – the swimming area and canoe launch are closed. The campground, picnic area and playground remain open.
